We are two grandmothers who are greatly enjoying writing the series,  The Adventures of Jack  for your family to read together. All of the stories are based on real events in a young boy’s life.  We try to keep it as close to what actually happened as possible, but there is some artistic license in needing to fill in little details.  And, sometimes there will be slight differences between the two versions.  For example, I pictured Jack going to the front door and Annie pictured him going to the back door.  Annie is probably right since that was the closest door coming from the barn.

We hope you take advantage of the opportunity to teach character and morals as you read about the true adventures of Jack growing up in the Canadian Northwoods wilderness with his family, friends and wide variety of animals.

Annie Grace

I grew up in a rural area in the Midwest and am the mother of four and grandmother of ten.

Educational toys and books for children has always been a priority with me. I always figured that time spent should have a purpose. Sometimes it’s great to relax and have fun, but why not do it and learn something in the process?

Writing this book has been an adventure. Since it is based on a true story, it’s so much more meaningful. They say that truth is stranger than fiction and when you see the whole picture of this boy’s life, you will know what I mean.

I am always looking forward to writing the next book in the series. The main focus of the series is to instill in children the importance of respect and responsibility which, if taught at an early age, will stay with a person for the rest of their life.
Thank you for choosing my book and I hope you get a chance to follow Jack through his many adventures!

Iris Wolf

Iris Wolf

Iris Wolf was a home schooling mom of six who enjoyed reading to her children so that they would get the full picture and humor that the author intended …  she writes with the intent to teach many things – good attitudes, good character, responsibility, vocabulary, correct speaking, logical thinking and encouragement to learn more about the subject… all in the context of an interesting story told with humor.  See the Notes to Folks Who Love to Read to Children near the end of each book.

As a result of writing these books, I’m learning a great deal about literacy.  All of us have all taught our children a language without even thinking about it.  Some of us have taught them how to read.  And, if we have read to our children, we have taught them very interesting things to improve their literacy.  It’s a marvelous study and I will be addressing that  on the page, Literacy and in the Posts.

These children’s stories are taken from a full length adult book about how Jack’s childhood training in marksmanship, tracking and sensitivity to his surroundings prepared him extraordinarily well for serving as a sniper in Vietnam.  He is a caring person although greatly affected by the experience. The adult book is in the process of being written while we are writing the children’s books.  We are including Jack’s good and bad attitudes and decisions to not just make the stories realistic, but enable you to use it as a discussion and teaching guide, applying Godly principles in your own unique way.
